A wonderful front cover with a bright chromolithograph illustration and text in full colour, green cloth spine, engraved advert for Fred Watts and Gentlemen's and Boys' Outfitters to rear cover. This nursery rhyme book is interesting as the illustrations are a mixture of styles, some are still very Victorian and others, incl. the frontis. are more early 20th century. It is unusual to see a such a period change within the covers of one small book. Covers sl. worn and soiled, margins of pages browned o/w VG.
