4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. On offer is a super, original scrapbook of the early World War II home front years of 1941 to 1942 compiled by Ernest Brown Walker Jr. and his mother Emily Brown Walker who lived in the Mayflower Apartments in Louisville, Kentucky. The Mayflower was located somewhere in the Willow Ave, Cherokee Park area (not sure if it is still called that). He graduated from Male High School in May of 1934 and enrolled in Washington and Lee University of Lexington, Virginia in September of 1934. He graduated from Washington and Lee and took a job with a local printing company. [We listed separately his high school scrapbook and his university era scrapbook.] In October of 1942 he entered the military. This scrapbook covers the time from his graduation until he entered WWII. This book has 127 pages with something attached or glued to them. There are approximately 173 items not counting stamps in the book with 28 actual photographs. Ephemera includes photos, post cards, letters, newspaper clippings, play and church programs, wedding invitations, dance invitations etc. etc. etc. There is an interesting card with WWII city wide "Blackout Notice" plus the Pendennis Club is holding a "Blackout Dance Party". Ernest Brown Walker was the Grandson of CREEL BROWN and Great Grandson of J.T.S. BROWN both rich and powerful Kentucky Whiskey Distillers. Overall VG.. Book Condition: Very Good
