Original broadside printed on yellow paper in red and black ink. Signed by the author in black ink in the bottom margin: "Clayton Eshleman; 33." No date, circa 1973. 9" x 13 1/2." Broadside is very clean and intact except for slight wrinkling and a horizontal fold line at center. A Very Good copy. A beautiful, printed broadside featuring an excerpt from an upcoming book of poems by Clayton Eshleman. One of the poems from the book is featured on the broadside, "The Physical Traveler." The broadside also promotes the book with its inclusion of a positive review by Gary Snyder and the prices of the book in Wrappers or as the Signed Cloth Edition. Publisher's information and "Broadside/Flyer No. 5" also printed in the bottom margin. Clayton Eshleman (1935-2021) was an American poet, editor, translator, and professor. In addition to his poems, Eshleman is best-known for his translations of Cesar Vallejo and studies on Paleolithic cave paintings and the creativity and imagination of that time period. The first lines from "The Physical Traveler": "I woke up pregnant by a wall / where a red spider watched me / from its web; don't forget, it / told me as I rose, that I / am pregnant too but dependent on my web.
