Original color photograph mounted to black matboard with mat window on front. Photo is framed by the matboard and is adhered to it with nine pieces of clear tape on back. No date, circa 1930s-1940s. Mat window: 7 1/2" x 9 3/4." Matboard: 11" x 14." Photo is virtually pristine and intact except for some offsetting on front from the matboard and slight overall age toning. Matboard is very clean and intact except for some light smudges on front, age toning on back, and slight wear to extremities. A Near Fine copy. A young man, Gerald Fisher, is shown wearing glasses and a brown suit in a 3/4 turn. He is shown from about the chest upward. The title is from a pencil inscription on back: "Gerald Fisher as Ed Tyrell in 'The Seuey Case' Taken from 'Secrets of the Secret Service'." Fisher is possibly in an acting role as the character of Ed Tyrell in a play, The Seuey Case, taken from an unknown source called "Secrets of the Secret Service." Purple photographer's stamp on back of photo: "Wm. Hengerer Co." The William Hengerer Company (also known as Hengerer's) was a retail department store based in New York. It was founded in 1867 and was in business until 1987. A pencil inscription with the following text is also on back: "Mrs. M. A. Fisher, 415 Parker Ave., Bflo." Mrs. Fisher was possibly Gerald's mother and the one who ordered the photo.. Photographic Image. Book Condition: Near Fine. Binding: No Binding
