This copy has a stamp on the date page quaintly indicating that this the "Colonial Edition". 314 pages plus 6 pages of publishing house advertisements. The workaday cloth cover is brittle - especially about the spine seams. It has some wear and is marked by handling and storage. The corners are worn by shelving. The spine is crisp and faded. The paper trim edges are foxed and storage discoloured. Inside, there is a previous owner inscription on the inside front cover. The spine affixation is delicate but secured at both the front and back covers. The pages have irregular handling and owner marks. The front pages have two small impression marks.
