In a trompe l'oeil effect, a clown appears to rip through the poster by posing through a gaping hole, past which a circus can be seen. The following text is part of the artwork: "Child Life: The Children's Own Magazine." No date, circa 1920s. Matboard measures 15 1/2" x 22." Artwork area measures 12" x 16." Cover art is very clean and intact. Colors bright, lines clean and intact. Matboard and part of the artwork have slight darkening or age toning. A few pinholes are in the margins of the matboard along the edges, not affecting artwork. Near Fine. A visually stunning artwork, original cover art for Child Life Magazine. Beautifully rendered in fine detail by Hazel Frazee. Hazel Frazee (1889-1972) was an American artist and book illustrator from Chicago. She graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago, participated in several art exhibitions, and was a member of the Poets Club of Chicago. Frazee illustrated many of the covers for Child Life magazine.
