Fifty-three black and white plates, illustrations, and reprinted photographs, complete. Some of the photographs were taken by the author. Covers are pristine and intact. Pages and front panel of dust wrapper are very clean and intact overall. Some pages have faint foxing spots. The front panel of dust wrapper has a few small chips at the top. A few pages feel a little loose but are still attached and intact. A Fine copy. Charles Wellington Furlong (1874-1967) was an American explorer, writer, artist, and photographer. Furlong traveled to many parts of the world throughout his career, but after a decline in his health, he went to the American West upon hearing that Theodore Roosevelt had done the same for his health earlier.
