On offer is a super, original 1887 rather naïve three page manuscript letter handwritten by a young itinerant traveler, Geary Beam to his brother Wesley letter with an interesting narrative of his travels to the Baltimore area for work with a companion. Here are some snippets: "I am down 9 miles below Baltimore by water and 15 miles below Baltimore by land there is only three houses that you can see around and one of them is the other side of the river." No place to sleep..."we went down along the river and we found an old boat laying out on shore...shuved it into the river...old pieces of roten lims of[f] and old tree." Boat came apart, almost sunk. Got board along Chesapeake Bay and "we can see big ships coming from Germany and England." "There is snakes down here as long as 6 to 11 feet long." Overall G.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Good
