Goodkind made his fortune from real estate and became an assiduous and effective violin historian, expert and collector. The book is housed in a thick board slipcase which is scuffed and worn all about. It is however, solid, sound and sure. The wood coloured cloth boards are very healthy. Tipped in illustration with gilt border. All in excellent condition. The spine has a leather plate affixed on which is stamped the titling. The leather and the titling are fresh and smart. The spine has a dimple from the weight of the pages. Italianate end papers that are fresh and vibrant. The contents are in excellent condition. They are produced with great care and confidence.
