Trace of spotting to top edge. Near fine condition. Afrikaans text with English abstract. The early history and achievements of the F.A.K. (Federasie van Afrikaanse Kultuurvereniginge) are discussed. Highlights included the promotion of 'Die Stem' as the official national anthem for South Africa, the Great Trek centenary celebrations of 1938, the elevation of Afrikaans in the civil service, the alleviation of the plight of poor Afrikaners through the Organization's Economic Institute, and the propagation of the idea of Christian National Education in the country's schooling system. An important insight into the cultural history of the Afrikaner.
