Card measures 4 7/8" x 3 1/8"; paper measures 7 3/4" x 10 3/8." Card, paper, and signature are very clean and intact. Eugene Hale (1836-1918) was an American politician from Maine. Hale studied law and was a prosecuting attorney in Maine for nine years. He served in Maine's state legislature from 1867-1868 and the U.S. House of Representatives from 1869-1879 in the 41st-45th U.S. Congresses. Hale was also a Republican U.S. Senator from 1889-1911..
