Typed letter on beige stationery in black ink. Datelined May 27, 1929 in New York City. 8 1/2" x 11." One page. Letter and signature are very clean and intact. Robert Thomas Hardy (b. 1873) was an American writer, editor, and agent. He wrote poetry, short stories, and silent movie scripts. He worked as an editor at Lippincott, Street and Smith, and Munsey publications, among others. He worked as an agent for Marjory Stoneman Douglas (1890-1998) and also marketed young writers to pulp magazines, such as Black Mask.. He worked from about 1910-1940. In this letter to writer James Stevens (1892-1971), Hardy gives his low opinion about having "pull" with an editor.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
