HERBERT**, JAMES: : DOMAIN

LONDON.NEL,1984.

ISBN 0450060764.

UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn.NFINE/NFINE.No owner inscrptn, and no price-clip to dw/dj. Some negligible shelf-wear to dw/dj edges with some very, very light bumping with reciprocal creasing to both the head+foot of spine/backstrip - no major nicks or tears present.Majority of the creasing is to the top edges of the dw/dj,with some miniscule curling of the laminate at the edges of both the head+foot of the spine/ backstrip where bumped.Black pictorial dw/dj with both silver and gold letters to upper wrap and silver gilt and white letters to spine/backstrip; with some inevitable, but light, minor, miniscule scoring/indents to both panels of dw/dj - boards beneath though, are unaffected. Top edges very lightly aged and minimally dust-soiled,but generally bright and clean, fore-edges brighter and clearer but with three small splash stains; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners. Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered, publisher's original, plain black cloth boards with bright, crisp, blocked gilt letters to spine/backstrip and near immaculate plain white endpapers.2 tiny, tiny spaced, pricked holes (possibly the residue of a staple removed?) have reciprocally pierced the ffe and the half-title pages to their vertical front edge, with further reciprocal impression/ indentation, but no piercing,to the following pages, and lessening in degree and visibility to around pp14/5.The last page and the 2pp blanks at the rear, along with rear free endpaper, have inexplicably,a very faint, single vertical crease to them.UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn,11-381pp[paginated] includes Pts 1-3 comprising 34 chapters. Described hard, but fairly and honestly - nowhere as bad as it reads or would appear - probably too much detail for minimal faults! Third action-packed story in the RATS trilogy begins literally with an explosive climax and builds to an horrendous finale, with scarce relief from the frenetically mounting tension. The final chapters, with their gruesome and mind-wrenching revelations,go beyond anything the author has written before.
