This is an ex-library copy with only a handful of unabtrusive stamps, not effecting the plates. There is dampstaining along the bottom right corner of the volume, as well as a long straight tear about 7" that is limited to page 477, & 479; general soiling, foxing and wear throughout. The frontis and last plate show the most wear. Full contemporary dark brown calf, front board detached. John Hill (1714?- 1775) introduced the Linnean system of botanical nomenclature to England and remains "a somewhat controversial figure in the history of botany in England" As is, complete.
