A somewhat defective copy, which would certainly benefit from some careful restoration. Six Penrice portraits of MacDiarmid accompany twenty-one poems contributed by Edwin Morgan, Norman MacCaig, G.S.Fraser, Hamish Henderson, Maurice Lindsay, Ronald Munro, Alan Riddell, Alexander Scott, Iain Crichton Smith, Sidney Goodsir Smith, Nathaniel Tarn and others.
