Original publisher's leaflet printed in black ink on light beige paper. Small black-and-white illustration of the Chautauqua Press printer's mark at top with the following printed text alongside it: "The Chautauqua Library; And Scientific Circle." No date, circa 1890. 4" x 5 1/2." One leaf of paper printed on front and back. Leaflet is very clean and intact except for moderate age toning, a few small wrinkles, and two tiny closed tears at top edge (larger of the two measures 1/4"). A Very Good copy. This is a promotional leaflet advertising a four-part series of textbooks in which each part represents one year of academic study. Names of two publishers are printed on back, Hunt & Eaton of New York and Cranston & Stowe of Cincinnati. The leaflet comprises the terms of payment and four lists of books. The books are organized by year, so the four parts are "1886-'87," "1887-'88," "1888-'89"," and "1889-'90." The years denote the books' publication dates. The following is an example of what is on one of the book lists: "1886-'87: Winchel's Walks and Talks in the Geological Field, Warren's Recreations in Astronomy, Wheeler's Sketches from English History, Beers's English Literature, Wilkinson's Classic French Course in English, Lord Macaulay's Warren Hastings, Hurst's A Short History of the Early Church, and Fisher's The Christian Religion..
