Huntington, Ebenezer : Norwich, Connecticut, 1800, Manuscript Legal Document Denying Claim by Ebenezer Huntington

"Commissioner's Report on Estate of Nathan Brooks." Manuscript Document signed by Chris Leffingwell, Elisha Hyde, and Jobez Perkins. Document measures 7 1/4 x 12 1/2, four pages, two are blank. Slight chipping three sides. Previously repaired with document repair tape. Handwriting is beautiful, even hand, with some fancy letters. Huntington (1754-1834) was born in Norwich, graduated from Yale in 1775, and served in both the Revolutionary and Regular U. S. Army from 1775-1800. He achieved the rank of Brigadier General. He represented Connecticut in the U. S. House of Representatives (1810-11, 1817-19). This report denies Huntington's claim against the estate of Nathan Brooks, ruling that shared debts that Brooks had previously paid negated the need to pay Huntington's $1,000 claim. Huntington's claim is as an assignee of the estate of General Joseph Williams.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
