On offer is an exceptional early 18th Century, circa 1730s as stated on the detached fep 'Ioseph Wyatt His Book 1730, original manuscript cookbook with numerous recipes [receipts] from the 1730s some later but others, perhaps copied from earlier cookbooks, using an earlier style written as "ye" and "thou". From the opening page 'To Make Curd Puffs' to 'To Make Sulabub' [syllabub?] there are approximately 110 pages of recipes plus how to make various puddings preserves, orange cream, preserved walnuts. rabbit, how to pickle mushrooms how to make a cake, how to make punch with just brandy, lemons and nutmeg which would be a variation of a recipe from the 1660s rice pancakes, surrop of violets, six hour pudding, seed cake, walnut wine, a very early recipe for a saffron cake, how to candy Angelico, how to cook pigeon other recipes in a later hand. There are also along with recipes about 27 or so pages of musings, religious writings and a poem or two. As to condition the book has a frayed and damaged spine cap, slightly bowed covers, a couple of loose pages but is otherwise good.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Good
