[MANUSCRIPT EHON] Jicho^sai, artist. KATSURA KASANE. This manuscript copy of Jicho^sai's classic work of the "Toba-e genre" closely approaches the original colors and size of the printed version. [Mitchell's Example "A", p.346-7] Even the colophon and its distinctive wineglass seal have been reproduced by hand. A remarkable job, indeed, with much of the verve and skill of the original. Comparing it with the printed color and b+w versions reveals the astonishing skill the artist employed in capturing the energy and style of the calligraphy and the images themselves. In very good condition. Beautiful colors.
