Boards somewhat bowed and scuffed; upper joint starting at head; pen notation to front pastedown; some tape marks to endpapers; several pages unopened; some browning to pages facing plates, though plates themselves are unaffected. Good condition. Dutch text. Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Maria became Queen of the Netherlands following her father's decease in 1890, with her mother Emma serving as regent. Her coronation was, however, only in 1898, which is why this commemorative publication of 1923 celebrates twenty-five years of her rule. Noted for her advocacy of Dutch neutrality in the First World War, Wilhelmina maintained a government in exile from the United Kingdom during the Second World War, returning to her homeland in 1945.
