About the authors:
Maureen Lambourne is the great-great granddaughter of John Gould.After taking a degree in Fine Art at Reading University,she worked in the Victoria and Albert Museum and taught Applied Arts in Leicester.She has published articles on John Gould and other animal artists in various journals.
Allan McEvey is both a distinguished ornithologist and art historian,areas of scholarship which he has brought together to produce many important works on Gould. Previously Curator of Birds at the National Museum of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia,Mr McEvey has long been the pre-eminent expert on Gould in his country.
Gordon C. Sauer has had a forty-year fascination with all aspects of John Gould's life.He has travelled widely in search of material,and published many scholarly works. Based in Kansas,he has had ready access to the unsurpassed collection of Gouldiana in the Ellis Collection at the Spencer Research Library,University of Kansas.
