Original letter on white paper ("State of Washington, Executive Department, Olympia" stationery) with text typed in blue ink and the author's signature in black or dark blue ink. Signed, "Arthur B. Langlie." Datelined December 17, 1950 in Olympia, Washington. 7 1/4" x 10 1/2." One page, complete. Folded in thirds horizontally; folds may be original. Paper, text, and signature are pristine and intact. Paper is still very clean and bright with an almost imperceptible amount of age toning. A Fine copy. Arthur B. Langlie (1900-1966) was an American politician who served as the Mayor of Seattle and the 12th and 14th Governor of Washington. In this brief letter, Langlie responds to correspondence by E. T. Becher, President of the State Parks Advisory Board. The letter reads, "Dear Mr. Becher: This will acknowledge receipt of your letter of December 15, relative to the next quarterly meeting of the Advisory Board on Historic Sites, scheduled for the 12th and 13th of January in Bremerton. As you know, the legislature will be in session at that time and it will be impossible for me to attend, but I do appreciate your writing and advising me of the meeting.". Manuscript. The letter reads, "Dear Mr. Becher: Thank you for your letters of September 22d, enclosing material relative to the plans of the Advisory Board on Historic Sites to the State Parks and Recreation Commission.
