Original publisher's beige wrappers with staple binding. 5 3/4" x 8 3/4." Twenty pages, complete. Many black and white illustrated advertisements for a variety of businesses and services, complete. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Slight browning to the covers and a small bit of wrinkling. Offsetting on back cover. Center pages are partially loose from the binding. An advertising brochure featuring the Fulton Theatre in Oakland, California. Most of the information about the Fulton Theatre are on Pages 9 and 18. Page 9 is about the upcoming play, "Main Street," which is based on the novel by Sinclair Lewis. Page 18 contains information about the theater staff, performances, and pricing. Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951) was a novelist, playwright, and short story writer. He was a renowned author in his time and even today. Lewis became the first American writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Fulton Theatre was a theater in Oakland that began as the Bishop Theatre in 1916. The Bishop Theatre was renamed the Fulton Playhouse in 1918. The Fulton Playhouse later became the Franklin Theatre, then the Newsreel Theatre in 1939, and finally back to the Franklin Theatre in 1943. The theater closed in the 1950s. Much of the brochure contains business ads. Some of the businesses represented in the ads are the Reo Motor Car Company, Oakland Plumbing Supply Company, Cochran & Celli (includes a graphic for Chevrolet), Long's (coffee shop), L'Aiglon Ball Room, Sweet's School of Dancing, California School of Hair Dressing, Farrow Motor Company, Dorothy's (hat company), Peerless Motor Company, New City Market, and Lehnhardt's..
