Pages and covers are very clean and intact overall. Wrinkling to the covers and pages. Front cover somewhat dull. Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951) was a novelist, playwright, and short story writer. He was a renowned author in his time and even today. Lewis became the first American writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Following Lewis's essay on book collecting are bound-in samples of books to be published by the Limited Editions Club. The Limited Editions Club (LEC) was founded in 1929 by George Macy (1900-1956). The club specialized in publishing illustrated fine-press reprints of literature. Most of the limited editions published by the club were signed by the illustrator, and in some cases, by the book designer or even the author.
