4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. On offer is a super leather-bound memory book and friendship journal given as a gift in 1879 to Maggie Morgan in honor of her marriage to William Rees. Research suggests this couple lived in Wales and the eclectic album of 37 handwritten and hand drawn pages in many languages including: French, English, Welsh, Greek, and German. The latest entry is 1901 and the entries span wedding congratulations, friendship, baby related and a couple that appear sombre and relating to someone's passing. Many are poems, personal messages, an acrostic, original artwork and pasted-in illustrations. Some are original and some are transcriptions. The front cover is completely detached, the back cover on its way, spine cap absent and the journal has wear and age discoloration to several of the pages. Overall the 9" x 7&1/4" book is Fair+..
