A work of Christian Science and apologetics that focuses on the subject of immortality and the afterlife. The book features the characters of Reverend H. Miles and Frank Verace, an atheist and "materialist." Miles happens upon Frank, the latter of whom is experiencing immense grief, having recently lost a loved one. Miles encourages Frank to be open to hearing about Christian principles and thus commences a series of discussions between the two. Through their discussions, author Harry Marschner, a reverend himself, conveys Christian ideas about death, evolution, and other religious and existential subjects. The following are a few examples of the more specific subjects addressed in this book: whether humans evolved from animals, whether the Biblical Creation story is to be taken literally or not, the connection between thoughts and the human body, the persistence of one's unique personality despite bodily changes throughout life, and pantheism and theism..
