Blue cloth, gilt title and publisher's name in black to spine, gilt title and Maugham's device in black to upper board, publisher's device in black to lower board, top-edge stained dark blue. Internally clean and crisp, though the fore and bottom edges of the bookblock are foxed. The back corner, at the base of the spine, is very gently bumped. In a dust jacket printed in red and black at spine and front panel. It shows moderate soiling all over, sunning at spine, slight edgewear and a few tiny nicks. There is a small oblong puncture at the heel resulting in the loss of the central letters in the publisher's name which is printed in that place. Nonetheless, its condition is very good plus overall.
