First edition. Original paper wrappers. 8vo. 50 pages, 23 cm. In Yiddish and Hebrew. Title translates to “Book of Dream Interpretation. ” Written by Jackie Mason’s father, Rabbi Bernard Maza. Rabbi Maza was born in Minsk, but soon emigrated to the United States where he practiced as a rabbi. His son, born Yacov Moshe Maza in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, later changed his name to Jackie Mason. At age 25, Mason, the son (still Maza) , received semikhah from Rabbi Moshe Feinstein and was ordained a rabbi (as his three brothers, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather had been) , in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Three years later, he resigned from his job in a synagogue to become a comedian because, he said, "Somebody in the family had to make a living” (Wikipedia, 2016) .. SUBJECTS: Dreams.
