One black and white frontispiece showing an illustrated portrait of General McClellan, complete. Twelve additional pages of advertisements in the back for other books published by T. B. Peterson & Brothers. Former owners' inscriptions on the front endpaper; the one on the pastedown is written in black ink and is dated 1937; the other was on the front free endpaper in pencil and has been erased. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Gilt lettering is faded. There is wear at the corners and head and tail of the spine. A Very Good copy. This book is a biography about George B. McClellan (1826-1895), the famed general who served during the Mexican-American War and fought for the Union during the Civil War. McClellan was also a civil engineer, railroad executive, and politician. He served as the 24th Governor of New Jersey.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover
