Limited Edition. One of 500 copies printed. Original publisher's green cloth binding gilt lettering on front and back covers and spine. Gilt botanical decoration on spine. Top edge gilt. 4 1/2" x 6 3/4." 196 pages, complete. Front colophon: "This first edition on small paper is limited to five hundred copies." Pages are very clean and intact overall but have light age toning throughout and the small occasion stain or mark. Covers are pristine and intact except for a few tiny marks on front and back and minuscule wear to extremities. Binding is tight. A Very Good, almost Near Fine copy. About Sir Moses Montefiore (1784-1885), a British financier, banker, and philanthropist of Italian Sephardic Jewish descent. Authored by Joaquin Miller (1837-1913), an American author, poet, and frontiersman.
