Moore, Thomas : Original Greeting Card - "When spring adorns the dewy scene, How sweet to walk the velvet green" [Color Illustration of a Country Scene at Sunrise or Sunset]

Original greeting card printed in multicolored ink on beige paper. Printed gray lettering on front and back. Card is unused. No date, circa 1900s-1920s. 5 3/4" x 4." Card is very clean and intact but has some age toning (hence the beige color), a few wrinkles, and some offsetting on back. A Very Good copy. An original greeting card that can be used to celebrate the spring season. The title is printed at the bottom on front, which features a beautiful color illustration of a scenic country landscape during sunrise or sunset. A barn or house is visible in the background with a winding creek and trees in the foreground and middleground. The back features a printed poem titled, "Clouds," but is really an excerpt from Thomas Moore's poem, "The Golden Hour." The excerpt reads, "How calm,--how beautiful comes on / The stilly hour, when storms are gone, / When waving winds have died away, / And clouds beneath the glancing ray, / Melt off and leave the land and sea / Sleeping in bright tranquility!" Thomas Moore (1779-1852) was a noted Irish poet who is perhaps best-known for his Irish Melodies.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: No Binding
