Original Broadside - "The Program of Visit and Souvenir of the King & Queen of Italy"

Original broadside souvenir commemorating the visit of the King and Queen of Italy, Umberto I (1844-1900) and Margherita of Savoy (1851-1926), to England. Printed in black ink on thin off-white tissue paper with two black-and-white illustrated portraits of the King and Queen. Includes a beautiful decorative border of pink flowers and green leaves accented with glitter paint, likely hand-painted. No date, circa 1878-1900. 14" x 13 1/2." Broadside is very clean and intact overall, but the paper is very fragile (a material similar to glassine or tissue paper) and has slight age toning and a few bumps and small closed tears. A Very Good copy. This broadside was printed on the occasion of King Umberto I and Queen Margherita of Savoy's visit to England. The text comprises the program of events including the receiving of the King and Queen of Italy by the King and Queen of England, the monarchs' carriage ride to Windsor Castle, formal meetings between members of royalty and other dignitaries, and the route to the Italian Embassy and the Guildhall. Of note is a list of royal members riding in the first two carriages. The King of England (Prince Albert?), King Umberto, the Prince of Wales (Edward VII?), and the Duke of Connaught (Prince Arthur?) are in first carriage. The Queen of England (Queen Victoria (1819-1901)?), Queen Margherita, and Princess Victoria (Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901)?) are in the other carriage.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
