Illustrated wrappers. In 1923 the Library received a manuscript inventory of the papers of the Colony and Manor of Rensselaerswyck. "The inventory filled 65 double pages." The Rensselaer family were prominent landowners in New York State and the he ad of the family was known as the Patroon. They leased agricultural land to tenant farmers, among other endeavors. The last Stephen Van Rensselaer was born in 1764 and at the age of five inherited all of his father's landed and feudal estates.
