Most charmingly, wistfully and creatively illustrated by the Irish artist, Lilian Davidson (who had never visited Africa). The plates are healthy and contented. The boards are much worn all about. They have scuffing, storage marks. Nonetheless, the boards are steady and sound. The contents have aged. They have foxing and age-related mottling throughout. The front pages and end papers have a previous owner's stamps and notations. Page 76 has a closed tear.
