One Touch of Venus was originally a musical that first showed on Broadway in 1943 with music by Kurt Weill and lyrics by Ogden Nash. The book adaptation was co-authored by Nash and S. J. Perelman, who both wrote its prose, and contains Nash's lyrics from the original play. S. J. Perelman (1904-1979) was an American screenwriter and humorist. Ogden Nash (1902-1971) was an American poet. One Touch of Venus is a comedic musical in which a statue a Venus is accidentally brought to life by barber Rodney Hatch.
