'The Dwarfs' is Harold Pinter's first and only novel. It was written,as the author says, 'in the early fifties, before I began writing plays'.Novel first written, but unpublished,by Pinter in the early 50's (between 1952-56) and then revised by him in 1989,for its first publication - revision noted to last page, last chapter. The novel is set in post-war Britain and describes the interlocking lives of four young Londoners. Although the text shows Harold Pinter experimenting with voice and style, the work bears all the hallmarks of his later work for the stage and screen. It is funny, vivid and haunting,a fascinating debut by a writer whose imagination has shaped our lives. Noted British playwright and screen writer; with plays like 'The Birthday Party', 'The Caretaker', 'The Homecoming' etc.,and screenplays like 'The Go-Between', 'The French Lieutenant's Woman','A La Recherche Du Temps', 'The Heat of the Day' and 'The Comfort of Strangers'.
