The ALA is still active to this day as a scholarly forum that focuses on the study of Abraham Lincoln. This issue features the following: "The Sandburg 'Lincoln'" by Harry E. Pratt [book review of Carl Sandburg's Abraham Lincoln: The War Years], "Lincoln and Andrew Johnston: 'Poets'" by Pratt [about the time when Lincoln and an acquaintance, Andrew Johnston, exchanged poetry; includes a reprint of Johnston's parody of Poe's "The Raven" called "The Pole-Cat"], and "Mrs. Browning's Reply" [Eliza Caldwell Browning's reply to a humorous petition that Lincoln wrote to her and was signed by him and three other members from the House of Representatives]. Eliza Caldwell Browning was a friend of Lincoln and the wife of United States Senator Oliver H. Browning. Harry E. Pratt was one of the editors of the Bulletin.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good.
