Original publisher's multicolored paper wrappers with a color illustration on the front cover of a serpentine creature holding a woman captive. White spine with black lettering. 6 1/2" x 9 3/4." 128 pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Advertisements are interspersed throughout. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Pages are fragile and age-toned. Some chipping at the edges and spine. Tape repair on covers and spine (one piece of tape at the bottom). Top and bottom edges of the cover appear to be cut but this may be original. A Very Good Copy. Famous Fantastic Mysteries was a science fiction and fantasy pulp magazine edited by Mary Gnaedinger. The first issue appeared in 1939. Its popularity quickly led to the publication of a companion magazine, Fantastic Novels. The last issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries was published in 1953. The April 1942 issue. This is one of the issues in which Famous Fantastic Mysteries and Fantastic Novels were combined. The following are the features in this issue: a book-length novel, "The Radio Planet," by Ralph Milne Farley; a short story, "An Unnatural Feud," by Norman Douglas; and "The Readers' Viewpoint.".
