Roberts gives Davidson to publish an extract from his letter to the headmaster at Harrow. "I was indeed sorry to hear of poor Money's death, and was frieved to see how fatally the news affected his mother. Poor old Lady. We shall, I fear, always be liable to vengeful acts of the same nature in India., for good soldiers as many of the Natives make, they cannot at times resist taking life when they think themselves agrieved". On p.3 is an ink note by Davidson referring to his own letter, and and explaining that two ladies to whom Roberts sends good wishes in a PS to the letter are sisters of the late Colonel Money.
