One black-and-white printed frontispiece photograph of Dakin, complete. "Published by the Friends of the Bancroft Library in collaboration with the California Arboretum Foundation, Inc." Susanna Bryant Dakin (nee Bryant; 1905-1966) was an American author and historian. She was also involved with the Friends of the Bancroft Library, the Society of Asian Art, the American Field Service, Marin Country Day School, and Scripps College. Brothers Lawton Kennedy (1900-1980) and Alfred Kennedy (?-?) were both noted Bay Area printers.
