This vintage booklet informs teachers about the need to physically exam their pupils (especially when the school systems couldn't afford dispensaries, nurses, and doctors on-site); the tools to use (tongue sticks or depressors, measuring tape, a pair of scales); nutrition; and the examination of proper growth, posture, skin, hair, legs, feet, etc. The information also covers diseases. A wonderful step back in time. Perhaps some teachers will chuckle at the procedures recommended. Information states in part: In any school system the teacher is the ultimate inspector . . . the regular teacher should make physical examinations.
