Original publisher's brown paper wrappers with gilt lettering and gilt illustration of a cross on front cover. No date, circa 1915-1916. 6 1/4" x 12 1/4." Unpaginated, circa forty pages, complete. Many black-and-white printed photographs and illustrations, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except light age toning throughout and several tiny chips limited to margins on a few. Covers are clean and intact overall but have slight chipping to edges and back cover is almost completely split down the outer joint. A Good copy. A promotional booklet about San Diego and surrounding area. Much of the pamphlet consists of printed photographs of scenic landscapes and views of the San Diego region. The booklet also contains a variety of other features such as poetry, essays about places of interest in San Diego, and brief histories of San Diego. Folding brochure containing several printed photographs in and around San Diego laid in back. A leaf in front is about the program of the Panama California International Exposition, San Diego and "Housewives' Day" on October 25, 1916. The Panama-California Exposition first opened on January 1, 1915 as a way to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal and San Diego's role as the first port of call for ships traveling north after passing westward through the canal. The exposition, while originally intended to last for one year, received an extension for another year. The exposition was aptly renamed the Panama-California International Exposition for 1916 when it added international vendors. The exposition closed on January 1, 1917.. Book.
