Presentation exceeds description. From the notes on contributors concerning the author, "He was among the first to take up the automobile, and after he became interested in aeronautics, some five years ago, he conceived the idea of using in balloons of cylindrical form compact and light motors such as are employed in automobiles, in the attempt to build a practicable air-ship. The experiments in which he has been engaged since then - in the course of which he has several times narrowly escaped death - have attracted universal attention and have resulted in a marked improvement in his machine as originally planned. In his article in this number of the Review, the first article he has written on the subject, he sets forth the reasons for his confident hope that he will succeed in solving the problem of aerial navigation." Alas, in 1903 the Wright Brothers would make history at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Issue also includes The Nature of Volcanoes, by N. S. Shaler, The New Influence on the British Throne, by Lady Jeune, America and France, by Gaston Deschamps, Strikes in the United States, by Carroll D.
