Original publisher's gray boards and beige dust wrapper in mylar with an illustration of a street in London on the front panel. 5 3/8" x 7 3/4." 145 pages, complete. Four plates in black and white and color, complete. Pages and covers of the book are very clean and intact except for offsetting on a few pages. Binding is tight. Dust wrapper has one chip at the top of the spine and at the top on the front panel slightly affecting lettering. The back panel has a small chip at the bottom not affecting lettering. A few faint stains on front panel mostly limited to the margins. Dust wrapper is not price-clipped. No remainder marks. A Fine book in a Very Good dust wrapper. Francis Hopkinson Smith (1838-1915) was an American author, engineer, and artist. Smith wrote many famous stories and built the foundation of the Statue of Liberty.
