Ex-college library. Overall very good condition: no markings or underlinings. In light brown cloth hardcovers with dark brown lettering on cover and spine. Exceptionally influential work published in honor of IVO KOHLER on the occason of his 65th birthday. The book contains scholarly articles and research analyses relating to the wide range of Kohler's innovative life work. Kohler is noted for, among other things, holding the record for the duration of a psychological experiment. During a period of 124 days, Kohler wore binocular prisms ( as eye glasses), recording his observations and interactions during that period. This was the first comprehensive use of the method of systematically disturbing or biasing perception since its first application by Helmholtz and Stratton. Its goal was to analyze the well structured organization of the perceptual world by means of that world's own corrective processes. 748 pages; many illustrations; subject Index; Author Index..
