Charles Sprague (1791-1875) was an American poet, known as the "Banker Poet of Boston". He worked for the Globe Bank in Boston for over forty years. He is noted for his 'Odes' and 'Orations' at public gatherings and received an Honorary "Master of Arts" from Harvard in 1829. His writings were gathered in THE WRITINGS OF CHARLES SPRAGUE (1841)..
