Small 8vo. xv,[i] 287 [i]pp. 16 cms. Original full green pub. calf with gilt titles to the spine. Folding frontis plate of the Moon as seen through a telscope and 37 other engravings with 29 plates, with many folding [complete]. The first edition was pub. in 1818 and is rarely seen complete having used rather poor quality paper. [pub. by J. Souter. This new edition pub. by Sir Richard Philips.] This second edition is called a New Edition and the author explains in the preface that many errors have been corrected and new data added. The plates were the same in both issues. Both issues are rare and the rather fragile binding and paper has resulted in few surviving complete.. Book Condition: V.g.. Binding: Hardback
