Contents unusually clean and fresh. 229 + 23pp. Chiabrera Gabriel (1552-1638), poet Savona, was a pupil of Paul Manutius and Sperone Speroni, and then serving several patrons in Rome and Florence. His literary and historical significance is that to him, leaning to the recovery of tradition can be traced back to Arcadia. This heroic poem, composed of 23 songs in the eighth verse, tells the fictional business of Amadeus V of Savoy, said the Conte Verde, engaged in the defense of Rhodes against the Turks. The Amedeida became a landmark not only for literary contemporaries, but especially for the eighteenth-century poets attracted to the mastery of several styles.
