Original publisher's leaflet printed in green ink on light beige paper. No date, circa 1930s-1940s. 5" x 3 1/2." One leaf of paper printed on front and back. One small portrait illustration of Walter A. Maier printed on front. Leaflet is very clean and intact except for light age toning, a few pencil strike-throughs affecting some of the text on verso, and a tiny closed tear at top edge. A Near Fine copy. This is a promotional leaflet advertising a printed collection of Walter A. Maier's radio messages that were delivered during the first part of the Thirteenth Lutheran Hour. The front promotes the featured book while the back is an unfilled order form. The Lutheran Hour was founded in 1930 as a Christian radio program. The program is part of the Lutheran Layman's League, which, in turn, is part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Walter A. Maier (1893-1950) was an American Lutheran clergyman and theologian, author, professor, and radio personality. He is perhaps best-known for being the first speaker of the Lutheran Hour from 1930-1950.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Near Fine. Binding: No Binding
