No date, circa 1910s-1930s. 3 1/2" x 6." Unpaginated, eight pages (four panels printed front and back), complete. A few black-and-white illustrations, complete. Brochure is clean and intact overall but has light age toning, a faint stain in upper-right corner on front panel, slightly bumped corners, and a diagonal crease located about center and extending through the whole brochure. A Very Good copy. A brochure promoting the Manitou Cliff Dwellings located in Manitou (or, Manitou Springs), Colorado and tours of the site and surrounding area. Printed text is brief. Part of the text summarizes aspects of the tour such as Phantom Cliff Canyon, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Tewa House, Cliff Dweller Museum, seeing members of the Pueblo tribe, and the Manitou Skyline Road. The Manitou Cliff Dwellings is a collection of life-size replicas of Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings that first opened to the public in 1907. The Manitou Cliff Dwellings were the brainchild of Virginia McClurg, the founder of the Colorado Cliff Dwelling Association. However, the site was not without controversy, even at the time of its opening, because it was initially promoted as being authentic when, in fact, it was not.
